SPEECH COACHING AND PRESENTATION SKILLS
|
| Top-tip: To help you prepare, we suggest a wellbeing treatment. Try a facial massage to relax the muscles. |
|
In the business world of the 21st century, presentation is important and Olwyn Jack, - speech coach and skilled presenter - has put together this programme which is ideal for companies whose staff need this skill.
No matter how good your power-point presentation may be, you are the focus of the audience’s attention and how you project your voice, how you stand, how you deliver the presentation are all crucial. This short break is a perfect opportunity not only to get away from the office for speech-coaching, but also for relaxation – some pampering! You will be in the capable hands of Olwyn Jack, a highly skilled, qualified voice-coach. All training takes place in Duntrune House, as will the pampering – unless a specialist treatment is required; they are in the Retreat Salon.
The break can be at the weekend or during the week. There is a maximum of four people single occupancy or up to eight people if accommodation is shared in twin rooms. All accommodation is en suite.
Day One: Arrive late-afternoon or early evening and take time to walk in the grounds and settle in. Enjoy a three-course dinner on your own or with Olwyn and Barrie Jack.
Over coffee Olwyn will talk through the course with you and then you can relax by the fire.
Day Two: After breakfast, Olwyn will take the first speech-coaching session, focusing on voice production. This will include:
- how the voice is made; your vocal identity; stress factors on your voice; vocal warm-ups; posture and relaxation
After lunch and time off, the afternoon session will kick off with:
- breathing for projection…..and go on to articulation for clarity; and enunciation for resonance.
The afternoon session will finish by 4.30p.m.and the rest of the time is yours – have a catch-up with your colleagues,
enjoy a stroll before dinner - or for a treatment by Alison Brady of the Retreat Salon.
Day Three: Today the concentration will be on delivery, with the morning session looking at:
- rehearsing the vocal warm-ups, followed by a quick revision of Day One and then on to…….
- pace, pitch, tone, emphasis and inflection
After lunch, the afternoon will include preparing and delivering a presentation, with feedback from Olwyn.
We will finish about 4.00 p.m. in time for afternoon tea before you head for home.
N.B: We can incorporate any particular aspects you want to concentrate on; this course is designed for you!.
